Born: November 30 1959 in Richmond VA.

Drafted in 1982 after a successful colligate career at James Madison by the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association. In his freshman season in pro basketball Linton Townes played in a career-high 55 games, and scored 257 points, averaging 4.2 points per game, and 1.2 rebounds per game.

In that season’s playoff, he scored 33 points in 6 games, and had 5 assists.

Also played 2 games with San Antonio in the 1984-85 NBA playoffs, scoring 8 points.

Although he played just 5 regular season games in the last 3-years, he had pleasant memories of his solid basketball career.
