Amare Stoudemire
The 6 ft 10 inch standout high school basketball player and was chosen by the Phoenix Suns in the 2002 NBA draft. Amare Stoudemire was picked as the 2003 NBA Rookie of the Year after leading all first year players in free throws attempted and made and in rebounds. In that resounding season he also finished second in points scored, block shots and minutes played.
Amare Stoudemire made the 2004 U.S. Olympic Basketball Team.
An excellent all-around athletic in his second NBA season he posted numbers of 20.6 points per game and 9 9.0 rebounds per game and in his third season increased them to 26.0 ppg and 8.9 rpg. |
