Basketball Historian Biography

The Brooklyn born Don Smith had a successful 10-year NBA career with five different teams after being drafted by the Cincinnati Royals in 1968 after starring at Iowa State.

Don Smith changed his name to Zaid Abdul-Aziz while playing in the NBA.

In his career the 6 ft 9 inch, 235 pound center scored 4557 points, a 9.0 points per game average, made 1769 FG in 4138 FGA, .428 percentage, connected on 1,019 FT in 1,400 FTA, .728 pct, had 4065 rebounds, 8.0 rpg and 205 blocked shots.
