Basketball Historian Biography

Earl Boykins stared with the Eastern Michigan basketball team during the late 1990s. Playing the guard position and standing 5 ft 5 inches, and weighing 135 pounds he was not drafted but did sign as a free agent with the New Jersey Nets in 1998. Earl Boykins was used sparingly for 4 different teams in his first five years in the NBA, playing in just 58 games. In his second and last season with the LA Clippers scored 280 points in 68 games, starting 2 of them,

Went to Golden State in 2002-03, got more playing time, 1,321 minutes in 68 games, scored 600 points, averaging 8.8 points per game. Earl Boykins then played two seasons with Denver, 2003-04, 2004-05, averaging over 10 ppg in both years.

Earl Boykins started 2006-07 with the Milwaukee Bucks, and with more playing time is one of the team’s highest scorers. On April 4 2007 he scored 32 points against Boston to help Milwaukee break a 7-game losing streak.
